‘The Healer’ in the community.

April 18th, 2012

I’m proud to throw my support behind two fantastic organizations doing important work in my community: Children with Intestinal and Liver Disorders Foundation (C.H.I.L.D.) and Fighting Chance Productions.

At its upcoming Fashion for C.H.I.L.D. luncheon (sponsored by Holt Renfrew), C.H.I.L.D. will auction off a Healer Book Club Event Package. This package features six autographed paperback copies of The Healer; six magnets and six mini buttons adorned with the cover artwork; a two-hour book club meeting moderated by yours truly at Peter Eastwood and Philip Seth’s beautiful heritage home, Ten Fifteen; and a $200 gift certificate from Emelle’s Catering (because talking about books can make you hungry!). Fashion for C.H.I.L.D. takes place between 11:30am and 2:00pm on May 25, 2012, in the Sparkling Metropolitan Ballroom at the Terminal City Club (Vancouver). For more information, visit http://www.child.ca/.

I’ve also donated a Healer Book Club Package to Fighting Chance Productions’ upcoming gala event, 25 AND STILL FIGHTING. Fighting Chance is currently preparing to mount its 25th theatrical production, and the event will both celebrate its accomplishments and raise for funds its future (and we all know that healthy cities have vibrant cultural scenes). The package includes: five signed copies of The Healer; five magnets featuring the cover artwork; and one bottle of sparkling wine. 25 AND STILL FIGHTING takes place at 8:00pm on May 4 at the Jericho Arts Centre (Vancouver). Jumpstart your book club AND support two worthy organizations in the process. Everyone wins!
